Shared Timer for iPhone, iPad & Apple Watch

Share a timer with anyone.
Every phone rings, even on silent.

The iPhone Clock app can't share a timer, and the apps that can only buzz as a notification, so they go quiet the moment the ringer is off. Shared Timer fixes both: set a countdown once, send the link, and everyone's iPhone rings at the exact same moment, whether that's two iPhones or the whole family. On iOS 26 it rings as a real alarm, through Silent mode and Focus. Change the timer while it runs and every phone follows. Timers stay synced on every device, Apple Watch included.

Three phones. One moment.

How it works

Three taps from "set" to "everyone knows"

No group chat math, no "did you set yours?" Just one timer that multiple people can see, between two iPhones or a whole group.

1

Set a timer

By duration or by picking an exact time: "dinner's out at 6:15." Change it while it runs; everyone follows.

2

Share the link

Through Messages or any app. Recipients just tap and they're in. No sign-ups.

3

Ring together

Every phone rings at the same absolute moment, even offline, with the app closed or on silent.

New in iOS 26

Rings even on silent.

Timers that only buzz as a notification get missed the moment the ringer is off, and that is how every other app that shares a timer alerts you. On iOS 26, every Shared Timer countdown is a real system alarm, the same kind the Clock app uses. The Silent switch doesn't mute it, Do Not Disturb and other Focus modes don't hold it back, and it keeps ringing until you stop it. Whether the app is open, closed or the phone is locked, it rings.

Through Silent mode and FocusThe ringer switch and Do Not Disturb no longer decide whether you hear your timer.
Keeps ringing until you stop itA full-screen alarm with a Stop button, on every phone sharing the timer.

Requires iOS 26 and the Alarms permission the app asks for on first launch. On iOS 17 and 18, timers alert with a notification, which follows your Silent switch and Focus settings. More about ringing on silent.

Ringer off. Still rings.

Multiple timers

Run several timers at once. Keep a history of each one.

Pizza, laundry, the baby's nap and a study block, all counting down on one screen, each with its own name and color. When a timer finishes it doesn't vanish: it stays in your timer history for two weeks stamped with the exact time it went off. Count-ups work the same way, giving you a stopwatch history with the total time and who stopped it.

As many as you needNo limit on timers. Nine colors keep them straight.
Timer history and stopwatch history"Completed at 2:15 PM." "Stopped by Sam after 1h 23m." Kept for two weeks.

Your timers, on your wrist.

Shared Timer comes with an Apple Watch app. Every timer you create or follow on your iPhone shows up on your watch, counting down in step. When one hits zero the watch taps your wrist, so you feel it even when the phone is in another room or the kitchen is loud. Stop a count-up, or a countdown you created, right from the watch.

Haptic alertsA tap the moment a timer finishes, then two gentle reminder taps until you open the app or stop the timer.
Complications and Smart StackKeep your soonest timer on the watch face. Tap it to open the full list.

Common questions

Sharing, multiple timers, and knowing when it rang

Prefer step-by-step? Read how to share a timer on iPhone.

Is there a way to share a timer on iPhone?

Yes. The built-in Clock app can't share a timer, but Shared Timer can. Set a timer, tap Share Timer, and send the link through Messages or any app. Everyone who opens it gets the same countdown, and every iPhone and iPad alerts at the same moment.

Can I change a timer after I've shared it?

Yes. The person who created it can edit the time, name or color while it runs, or add a minute with one tap, and every phone that joined follows the change. Only the creator can edit or stop it.

Can I share a timer from the iPhone Clock app?

No. Apple's Clock app has no share option; each person has to set their own timer by hand. Shared Timer exists to fix that: one person sets it and shares a link.

Can I share a timer between two iPhones?

Yes. Set the timer on one iPhone, send the link to the other, and both phones count down together and ring at the same moment. The same link works for two phones or twenty, and iPads and Apple Watches join the same timer.

Can I run multiple timers at once on iPhone?

Yes. Shared Timer runs as many timers as you need at the same time. Each one has its own name, color and countdown, they all sit on one screen, and any of them can be shared.

How can I see when my iPhone timer went off?

In Shared Timer, a finished timer stays on your list for two weeks marked "Completed at" with the exact time it rang. No more guessing whether it went off at 6:15 or 6:20.

Does the iPhone Clock app show when a timer went off?

No. Once you dismiss a Clock timer, it's gone and there's no record of when it rang. Shared Timer keeps the completed time on the timer's card and detail screen.

Do we need accounts or sign-ups?

No. Shared Timer never asks for a name, email or account. Timers sync through your iCloud account, which is already on your iPhone.

Can I sync timers and alarms between iPhones?

Yes. Shared Timer keeps synced timers on every phone that opens the link, so the alarms are synced up to the second. Sync alarms with a partner, a roommate or the whole family from one countdown instead of everyone setting their own.

Will everyone's alarm go off at exactly the same time?

Yes. A shared timer is tied to one absolute moment, not to when each person opened it, so every device rings together even if the app is closed or the phone is offline.

Does it work on iPad, Apple Watch or Android?

Shared Timer is a native iPhone and iPad app with a companion Apple Watch app. There is no Android app; Android users can open the link in a browser to see the countdown.

Is there an Apple Watch app?

Yes. Install Shared Timer on your iPhone and the Apple Watch app comes with it. It shows every timer you've created or followed, taps your wrist with haptics when a timer finishes, lets you stop a count-up (or a countdown you created) from the watch, and adds complications for your watch face. Creating and sharing timers stays on the iPhone and iPad.

Which languages does Shared Timer come in?

English, Japanese, French, Spanish, German, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese and Italian. The app follows your device language; there is nothing to set.

What does it cost?

Creating, receiving and following timers is free. Your first three shared timers are free too. After that, one purchase of $8.99 (US price; it varies by country) unlocks unlimited sharing forever. It's a one-time purchase for the person sharing; everyone you share with pays nothing. No subscription and no ads.

About the developer

I am an independent developer and do this on my own. This app started as a personal frustration: I had something in the oven, but had to leave the house. I wanted to share the timer so someone else could keep an eye on the oven.
